Banco Popular takes title to 42 Puerto Rico properties in six months, $4.3 million in deeds
Banco Popular de PR took title to 42 properties in 20 Puerto Rico municipalities through deeds recorded from March 10 to September 3, 2026. The deeds add up to $4,336,936, with a median of $82,583 a deed, and 27 of them carry less than $100,000.
From owners and foreclosures
Every deed but one names an individual owner as the party giving title. The exception, a house at 516 Calle Adrián Ortiz in Cerro Gordo, Bayamón, is a judicial sale in a mortgage foreclosure, in which a court marshal signs the property over after a public auction. The registry enters two more of the deeds, for a property in Cañaboncito, Caguas and another in Playa, Yabucoa, as judicial sales in mortgage foreclosures too.
Where the properties are
San Juan has the most, nine, followed by Carolina with six and Caguas, Guaynabo and Trujillo Alto with three each. Twelve of the properties are apartments, and two are lots.
The largest deed is $425,000, for 31 Calle B in Urbanización la Colina, Frailes, Guaynabo, recorded on April 23, 2026. The smallest is $17,000, for 26 Calle Orión in Playa, Ponce, recorded on March 10, 2026.
