Parada 18 is the eighth pump station DRNA has filed to rehab in 2026
The Departamento de Recursos Naturales y Ambientales (DRNA) filed three infrastructure recommendation requests on October 21, 2026, for the Parada 18 Flood Control Pump Station Rehabilitation, a project at Calle Roosevelt 18, Santurce, San Juan. One of the three is approved and the other two show no decision.
The department describes the work in one line: it proposes the rehabilitation of the pump station known as Parada 18, in the Municipio Autónomo de San Juan. An infrastructure recommendation request goes to the permits office before a construction permit or consultation, to check whether infrastructure is available for a project.
No construction permit has been filed for the project, which leaves the rehabilitation at an early stage. A filing on its own does not establish that any work has started.
Eight stations since May
The station is the eighth flood control pump station the department has taken to the permits office in 2026. The first was the Baldorioty station in Carolina, filed on May 5, 2026, which has the most approvals: four of its nine filings.
Five stations under a Cataño and Guaynabo flood control project followed from August 28, 2026. None of their 14 filings is approved, and 12 of them are incomplete. The De Diego station, also in Santurce, was filed on September 4, 2026, and has two approvals among its five filings: an environmental compliance determination by categorical exclusion and one of its four infrastructure recommendation requests.
Across the eight projects the department has 31 filings, seven of them approved, and none of them is a construction permit.
The three Parada 18 filings carry the cadastral number of Parque Central, the municipal park and natatorium in Santurce, where the park's entrance improvements hold a construction permit filed in 2022 with the status approved.
