Cidra pump station rehab logs 7 filings, no construction permit yet
The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority has filed seven times since May to rehabilitate an existing pump station at Urb Villas del Bosque J-1, Carr 172, Calle Geranio, Cidra. Three of the filings are recorded as approved and the newest, filed on October 22, 2026, is incomplete. None of them is a construction permit, so the project is at an early stage.
Seven filings in five months
The filings name the project EBAS Rehabilitacion Ciudad Primavera Cidra and describe the work as the rehabilitation of an existing pump station in Cidra Ciudad Primavera. Six are infrastructure recommendation requests, filed with the permits office before a construction permit or consultation to check whether infrastructure is available for a project. The seventh, filed on September 30, 2026, is an environmental compliance determination by categorical exclusion, which certifies that a routine action needs no further environmental planning.

Each date is the day the filing was made, not the day it was decided. The authority kept filing infrastructure requests after the environmental step, and no filing shows that work has started.
The authority on Calle Geranio and elsewhere
On the property next door, also on Calle Geranio, the authority filed for an electric generator permit on June 9, 2021, recorded as approved.
No other sewer pump station rehabilitation first filed with the permits office since January 2026 has as many filings. The closest, the Martín Peña (Tokyo) wastewater pump station in San Juan, has five. Eight other projects that name the authority as owner, in Caguas, Aguas Buenas, Naguabo, San Lorenzo, Morovis, Maunabo and Guánica, have one or two filings each so far.
