Home Depot Puerto Rico pays $2,233,702 for Isabela land
Home Depot Puerto Rico, Inc. has bought 70,232.95 square meters of land at Carretera 4474, Galateo Bajo, Isabela for $2,233,702, in a deed dated June 22, 2026. The land sits where PR-2 meets PR-4474, and it is the site of a store project on file with the permits office.
The price works out to $31.80 per square meter. It is the first sale of the land at a price since at least 2007: the only earlier deed, dated January 10, 2007, names the same person as buyer and seller, for $100. A registry filing dated July 17, 2026 and presented to the Property Registry on July 20 lists a $3,000,000 mortgage on the land as cancelled.
A project filed since 2024
The project, named The Home Depot - Isabela, carries 32 filings with the permits office, from January 26, 2024 to August 12, 2026. Its works description proposes a The Home Depot store and 3 outparcels on a property of about 142,161.83 square meters by deed, of which the development would occupy 70,232.9495 square meters, the same area the sale deed covers. A retention pond is also proposed.
A siting consultation filed on October 1, 2024 is under inspection. A consolidated construction permit filed on April 22, 2026 is recorded as approved; it lists 9,507.47 square meters of construction, a work period of 360 days, and connections to water, sewer, a state road, electricity and telecommunications.
The most recent filing, an infrastructure recommendation request filed on August 12, 2026, is recorded as approved. Three other infrastructure requests, filed in April and May 2026, are pending. On August 28, 2026, El Nuevo Día reported that construction of the store had begun.
Outparcels on the market
Since July 28, 2026, a broker advertisement titled Retail Outparcels at New Home Depot Development has offered three outparcels on the property, of 6,309.75, 4,208.15 and 5,585.49 square meters, with no asking price.
Among sale deeds in Isabela covering 20,000 square meters or more from November 2024 to October 2026, only one carried a higher price: $2,250,000 for 27,033.29 square meters in Bejucos, in a deed dated May 8, 2026.
